Najir Williams is a Photographer from Mid-Hudson Valley, NY currently studying at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. His focus is documentary photography as well as fine art. Najir has an associates in Visual Arts from Dutchess Community College as well as an Associates in Photography and Related media from FIT. His work has been shown at the Mildred I. Washington Gallery and the Cryptic gallery in Poughkeepsie,NY.. After graduating and transferring to study at FIT, his work “Oblivion” 2021, was selected for an alumni exhibition and was awarded the 2022 Presidential Recognition award.
Najir’s current work is focused on displaying different side effects of mood disorders, using photographs and mixed media, in order to create an open conversation to destigmatize mental health disorders. After completing the bachelors program for photography at FIT, he plans to pursue his masters degree in fine art.
